As the name implies, AAAH! ZOMBIES! isn’t your typical zombie movie. This zombie comedy puts a new spin on the undead film genre and tells a story from the point of view of a zombie and how they see each other. A chemical created by the military is supposed to turn ordinary soldiers into super human killing machines. It turns out to be a failure as it turns anyone who is infected with it into a flesh eating zombie. The concoction is transported for disposal.
Of course, things go wrong and the transport truck crashes. A barrel of the hazardous goo ends up rolling a very long way until it ends up at the back door of the local bowling alley where it promptly spills and contaminates a shipment of soft serve ice cream mix. A group of four friends at the bowling alley decide to try a beer and soft serve ice cream dessert and they’re transformed into zombies.
We’re not quite sure they’re aware they’re the walking dead. This hilarious zombie film was originally titled “Wasting Away” in its 2007 incarnation. Released on DVD in 2010 as AAAH! ZOMBIES!! this zombie film was written and directed by Matthew Kohnen. It stars Matthew Davis, Julianna Robinson, Betsy Beutler, Richard Riehle, Colby French, Tracey Walter, Michael Grant Terry and a host of others.
